Halloween 2021

Using some Mouse State Tracking in Max to modulate and preset morph some spooky sounds while controlling Animata animation scene. Laughing skull animates driven by laugh sound file energy.

E7p8Zw6VIAIWicx.jpeg

Updating my custom PS3 Max for Live Parameter controller with:

  • multiple scalable mappings per parameter

  • gesture recording and looping

  • selectable MIDI note mapping - momentary or toggle

Potential here for some absolutely bonkers performable modulations!!

Quick realtime performance triggering drum loops and controlling cinematic sound design instruments

Acoustic and Fuzz guitar session

Acoustic with Fuzz guitar jam session. J Mascis inspired Riff. Still need much more practice.. but fun process quickly recording, committing, mixing, mastering and most important just completing an idea or learning from an inspiration.

Strega Sessions

  1. Sending Animoog through Strega for some nice LoFi vibes.

  2. Noodling with Max sending CV signals to MakeNoise Strega then sending through H9 pedal back to Max.

Social Media Distortion

Tryin' to play some more guitar.. and record it so I can over analyze how poorly I play.. need to work on my groove.

One of the things I really love about electric guitar is how crazy alive it feels in your hands, its so touchy and amplifies everything including all those mistakes.. it really reminds me of the Live feeling of playing in modular synthesis environment. I never really compared the two before but both are Live performed, electric and constantly sounding instruments waiting for many types of potential interaction.

Pandemic Art Collaboration

a pandemic collaboration with good friend and artist @jamesacrow . just having some fun exercising different moods with sound design and music and adding some movement with audiovisual experimentation #artcollab #mood #tattooart #audiovisual

Collage Composition

Collage Composition Crawling in C Major

I’ve always liked sticker collages but never really wanted to commit to using my stickers to create one.. so i’ve built several collage generators of different kinds instead to automatically collage images. They’re kinda fun and of course i always try and build in some sort of audio generation or beat synced mechanic.. because nerd.

Bringing the old Swarmatron emulation app to life with some Lemur physics modulations from iPad

Footstep Foley Sequencer in Max

Old prototype sequencing footstep and foley layers in different ways to sell the small intricate differences for different directions and speed, etc

Conversation Sequence Stitching in Max

Auto Harp Memories

Screen Shot 2021-06-01 at 10.51.07 PM.png

I inherited this great Auto-Harp from my wife's late grandpa. He was a very unique, eccentric and talented artist. I have never played an Auto-Harp before and am pretty sure I'm playing it incorrectly but managed to multi-track some performances and put something together in his memory with his instrument.

Game Pad control of Soundminer's Radium sampler

Screen Shot 2021-05-31 at 9.13.03 PM.png

Using my Game Pad to control Soundminer’s Radium samplers. Super fun to apply MIDI control to filters and volumes and pitches and modulations and effects and dopplers all performable real time for sound design.
